| Love and success: three surefire strategies |
I coach many women in their twenties, thirties, and even forties, who long to find the man of their dreams, their white knight, the one who will steal their heart forever. To many, it seems such a meeting would happen naturally and effortlessly, but this is not always the case. From my years in the field I’ve observed that as you grow older you become more narrow-minded about what you want, especially in romantic matters. That’s why so many voices in personal development recommend forming a family with your first adult love. Nonetheless, in the spirit of discovery many people cruise from partner to partner looking for new experiences, but this approach to love most often leaves them with low self-esteem and a tangle of dark threads in their heart. These three pearls of advice will help you strike gold in love: • If you’re going to grant a guy a first date, make sure you actually like him – his appearance, his presence, and his personality. • In that first date, be very discreet. Don’t wear your heart on your sleeve, and don’t talk about your past heartbreaks. Instead, pose intelligent questions on topics that will help you know him better, such as his stance on the things that matter to you. A man who is genuinely interested in you won’t mind giving you honest answers so he’ll earn a second date with you. • Looks are the first thing that your date will find attractive; however, try to dress so he’ll pay more attention to your personality than your physical attributes. My clients often ask me, “Sheyla, why do men see me only as an object?” The answer is usually in the way they dress. I hope that this advice will guide you in your search for the man of your dreams, and that it will help you win his heart sooner than you imagine. Comments (0) |
